Ace: An Italian Juice

ACE this is by far my favorite Italian drink. Oh, my goodness, gracious! This is so good that, well… I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but during the two years I lived in Italy I spent an embarrassing amount of money on ACE. I bought 1 liter (or so) every week for two years. With 52 weeks in a year and 1 liter per week, I drank 104 liters (27.5 gallons). That’s almost like taking two 8 minute showers in this delicious fruit juice drink!! (I’m not sure why I included that link. But in case you are wondering how much water you use in a shower check it out!) Can you imagine that! I only wish that I had realized how easy it is to make it.

In Italy, everybody would always say “ACE è buonissima” and that it contains vitamins A, C, and E. While I have yet to figure out where the vitamin E comes from (please let me know if you figure it out!), I do know that this drink is packed full of nutrients that are just waiting to get out! I don’t know a single person who has tried this drink and hasn’t liked it. Anyone that has had it knows the characteristic three ingredients of ACE: carrot, orange, and lemon. So I must say that while this is great drinking a highly highly highly recommended there just aren’t that many people to make themselves. Most people will just run out to the store and buy it. In Italy, a liter of ACE costs from half a euro (for the cheap stuff) to €1,5 (for the high-end juice). Although it isn’t too much money, it still adds up, especially if you buy it weekly :/ (I’ll leave the calculation to you on how much I spent, or don’t spend that time and trust me in saying how much cheaper it is to make it yourself). So right here and right now I’m going to show you how to prepare your own ACE. A drink that is so incredibly delicious, wonderful to the taste, tangy, invigorating, and that I won’t be surprised if you start experimenting and creating your own juice mixes.


Now as I’ve already said, this is an extremely easy drink to make. For equipment, you will need a juicer. If you don’t have a juicer I here you’ll find all you need for juicing with a blender. Now, I’m in give you the ratios between the different types of juices that you need, but initially, I’m going to give you the quantities of how many of each fruit/vegetables will be juiced. Alright, so the first take out five oranges (I prefer navel oranges, Valencia are delicious too. If all you have are blood oranges, then I must say you are lucky! ACE flavored by blood oranges is by far my favorite!), 4 large washed and peeled carrots and 1 peeled lemon.

Now if you have a juicer, go ahead and turn it on and add the carrots, oranges, and lemon. Depending on how your juicer works, you may have to strain the liquid before drinking (unless you like pulp and/or juice foam). But there you have it! You’ve made ACE! Super easy! Super quick! And Super good!

10 Carrots, 2 Oranges, 1 Lemon or 10:2:1

In volumes, the juice of 9-10 carrots gives you one cup (236 milliliters) of juice.

Homemade Italian Ace Juice

  • Total time: 10 minutes
  • Serves: 2 Cups (473 Milliliters)

Orange, carrot, and lemon the only three ingredients to a perfectly balanced fruit juice. If you've visited Italy, or are planning to, this is a drink you'll remember (or must have). Come and soon will be enjoying your very own Taste of Italy!


  • 5 oranges, large
  • 4 carrots, large
  • 1 lemon, peeled


  • 1)

    PreparePeel and wash the carrots. Then peel the lemon and oranges.

    Juice: Using a juicer, place all the ingredients in the juicer.

  • 3)

    Enjoy: Once the juice has stopped flowing, strain the juice to remove any debris or foam. Enjoy!


Peeling the carrots will result in a sweeter juice
